¾î¿ï¸².Çѱ۷Î.ÀÌÀ½ÁÙ Oullm Opening Performance The music of Won Il officially opens [Icograda Millennium Congress, Oullim 2000 Seoul] at 5 p.m. on 23 October, 2000. Won Il's music manifests the Oullim spirit with a free style jazz influenced by Oriental(Asian) music. He will express gratitude toward the speakers participating in the congress from all over the world in this performance, specially organized to celebrate [Icograda Millennium Congress, Oulim 2000 Seoul]. The screening of a moving image clip, which was created by Park Myung-Chun, multi-media artist, will follow the music performance by Won Il. Welcoming Oullim Recetion The welcome reception will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the 24 October at the Auditorium Lobby, COEX. The City of Seoul will host the reception and welcome the participants before the opening of the conference and will share "Oullim," the theme of the Congress. Approximately 1000 people are expected to attend the reception, including the host groups, guest speakers, delegates, and designers from home and abroad. Starting with a welcome speech and a toast by Koh Kun, Mayor of Seoul, the welcoming reception will include a viewing of a promotional video of Korea and a speech by the president of Icograda. Screening of Works Selected from Cutting Edge Moving Image International Festival The moving-image becomes more and more important in design as the cultural environment changes and the arena of design expands. Cutting Edge Moving Image International Festival aims to reflect this growing interest in moving image, video and computer industry. 35 works selected from the applicants' works will be screened in between sessions on Day 1, 25 October and Day 3, 27 October. Grand prize will be awarded to one of these screened works on 27 October. Oullim Concert and Gala Dinner OUllim Concert will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on 26 October at the Auditorium, COEX, followed by Oullim Gala Dinner at Grand Ballroom, COEX. The Euro Asian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gum Namse, one of the most prominent conductors Korea ever had, will perform various repertoires for the designers participating in the Oullim congress from all over the world. The Gala dinner, hosted by the Songnam City, will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The official program will include a welcome speech of the mayor of Songnam City and a dinner speech by the chairperson of Oullim Management Committee. Bibimbab (Korean traditional rice dish) will be served in ceramic bowls specially created by Prof. Woo Kwan-Ho of HongIk University. After dinner, the ceramic bowls with each speaker's name inscribed will be given to the guest speakers as a souvenir. Approximately 800 people are expected to attend the dinner, including the guest speakers, congress delegates, and designers from home and abroad. Oullim Concert is open to students and general participants, however, only the invited guests and those who reserved the gala dinner will be admitted to Gala Dinner. The entrance to Grand Ballroom will be limited to those participants with the tag, "Gala Dinner." Designers' Techno Night Designers¡¯Techno Party, hosted by the Oullim Management Committee and administered by Technogate, will be held on the last day of the Congress, Friday the 27 October. It will start at 8:00 in the evening and continue until 5:00 in the morning of the following day, the 28 October (Saturday) at the Culture Belt around HongIk University. The Techno Party has invited about 1,000 guests, including the Congress delegates, 50 invited speakers, people involved in Icograda, and Korean ravers. With "P. L. U. R." (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) as its basic theme, the techno party aims to inform the ravers of the correct philosophy of techno-culture, which has been wrongly introduced up to now, and to promote cultural understanding among designers from around the world. The event consists of three programs: a LIVE ACT, a DJ performance, and a fashion fhow. The Live ACT, starting with the 'Gut' (Korean shamanic rite), will be staged outdoor and continue until 11:30 p.m. at various venues such as SSamzie Art Space, Artinus Bookstore, Olive Bakery, and Wood & Brick Pizza. 15 to 20 DJs will take turns for one hour respectively at NBINB, Myongwolgwan, Club 101, and Hiranya from 9:00 p.m., on the 27 October until 3:00 a.m., on the 28 October. Designer One Ji-Hae¡¯s fashion show will be held at the street in front of HongIk University from 11:00 p.m., 27 October through 00:30 a.m. the next day. We hope Designers' Techno Party will give the Congress participants an authentic opportunity for Oullim. Lunch For the general participants of [Icograda Millennium Congress, Oullim 2000 Seoul] (participants under age 27, members of Icograda, daily registrants of Day 2, 26 October), lunch will be served at Grand Ballroom on 25 October, and at Auditorium Lobby on 26 and 27 October. Standing buffet style lunch will be provided on 26 and 27 October for the friendly socializing among the participants. Japan, the host country of Icograda 2003 Nagoya Congress, will host "Sake Party" to promote the Nagoya Congress at Grand Ballroom during the lunch hour on 25 October. Student participants can have lunch at Chosun Hotel Food Court on 25, 26 and 27 October. The meal coupons for the Food Court are enclosed in the Congress kit. The Food Court is 150 meters away from the Grand Ballroom to the right. Promotion of 2001 South Africa and 2003 Nagoya Congresses South Africa will host the Icograda Congress [Continental Shift 2001, South Africa] in Sandton, South Africa from 10 through 14 September, 2001. The next Icograda Congress is scheduled to be open in Nagoya, Japan in October, 2003. South Africa and Japan open the promotional booths at the Auditorium Lobby to publicize the congress and present pamphlets, posters, and gifts to the congress participants. Icograda Congress 2000 EPSON Poster Event EPSON, the official sponsor of [Icograda Millennium Congress Oullim 2000 Seoul] holds the EPSON Poster Event. The works of guest speakers will be printed on the spot and exhibited to show the relation of graphic design and technology. Oullim Break Oullim Break will be scheduled two times a day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon between the sessions of 25, 26 and 27 October. Drink will not be provided during the morning break, however, the participants are recommended to use the facilities of COEX mall located at the underground level 1 of COEX for coffee or other drinks. Coffee will be served free during the afternoon break. Simultaneous Interpretation Service The opening program held at the Auditorium on 24 October will be simultaneously interpreted into Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese. Plenary Sessions on Day 1, 25 October at the Auditorium will be also simultaneously interpreted into Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese. Day 2, 26 October will be divided into four parallel sessions. "Digital Media" session to be held at Grand Ballroom A will be presented in Korean and English, however, the speech by Keiko Hirano will be translated simultaneously into Korean, English and Japanese. Grand Ballroom A has the seating capacity of 200. "Asian Showcase" session will be interpreted simultaneously into Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese at the Auditorium, which has the seating capacity of 1,100. "Public Design / Design / World / Social Environment" session will be held at Grand Ballroom B, which has the seating capacity of 200. The session will be presented in Korean and English. The last parallel session of "Graphic Design / Illustration" will be held in Grand Ballroom C, which can hold 200 people. The session will be presented in Korean and English, however, the speech of Santiago Pol will be interpreted simultaneously into Korean, English, and Spanish. Registrants, including the daily registrants of Day 2, 26 October, can choose any of the four sessions held at the Auditorium and Grand Ballroom A, B, and C, however, the seat will be assigned at a first-come, first-served basis. The sessions of Day 3, 27 October will be presented at the Auditorium and interpreted simultaneously into Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.
