2111 The difference of 'diffErence' and 'diffErance' 'diffErance' is created by Jacques derrida in France. 'diffErance¡¯is came from¡®diffErence¡¯in French. He changed the last two syllables '-ence¡¯ to ¡®-ance'. The purpose to create 'diffErance' is he wants to let people know that the word involves new thoughts and real intention. 'diffErance¡¯is a new created word which has various meanings not only 'different', but also 'put off and/or delay'. In other word, 'diffErance' is made with the meaning of 'diffErer'. We can see the difference of sight by movement. For instance, a horse has four legs originally, but it seems to have twenty when it runs. |
